Simon the Conductor!

I was reading up on Islamic drama. And they have a person who is called Master of Ta'ziyeh or Moin al-Boka. Now the role of this person is to during the performance direct, prompt, stop and start music, and other such things. He would walk across the stage directing the performance yet not participating. I was wondering about this.

Do you think the idea of you conducting our scene, since I am also participating, would be a good idea? Maybe not blatantly walking across the stage but using physical motions and looks to cue actions that happen on stage. The idea of fate or scripted events comes to mind. Some overpowering body that has dictated and controls all actions that happen in the world. Providing some nice alienation effect but also brings rise to the right sense of pre-destination. Not implying prophecy but pre-determinism. I think the key to this is not to perform it. To be the only one aware that this is a play and to not become part of the scene itself but a governing body that connects the audience to the action. Maybe a quick bow to the audience would suffice... something that lets them know that you are Simon and not a conductor in our world.

Thoughts?
